One of the first flying units I designed, the Falcon stayed pretty close to its original design the whole way along. All air units in the game were able to shoot while moving, so in general I tried to decouple the weapon from the unit facing - it gets a bit janky in-game if you have a very fast-looking directional unit strafing sideways while shooting.
Adding turrets to most units helped avoid this, making them feel a bit more natural.
